Hack music with us
We’re coming to Wellington to hold Music Tech Fest as part of Sounds Aotearoa Market at the Macs Function Centre next week (26-28 Feb), thanks to The British Council and The New Zealand Music Commission.
We’re going to host a music hackathon as part of that - and we’d love you to be there. We have room for around 20 hackers - so if you’re a coder, maker, circuit bender, developer or music technologist, and you want to get your hands and ears dirty - then sign up and come and join us.
We have snacks and cool, piratey t-shirts for everyone involved, and there will be prizes for the hack challenges. We meet on Wednesday 26th at noon at the Macs Function Centre for a briefing (and perhaps a glass of something nice). The hacks start at noon on Thursday and we present the results on stage at 2:30pm Friday.
There’s a short highlights video at http://musictechfest.org that gives an overview of the sort of thing that happens at a Music Tech Fest.
We’re bringing one of our star UK music hackers, Adam John Williams with us, and we’re going to be teaming up with some of our favourite kiwi musicians and companies to make some amazing sounds, imaginative tools and strange machines.
We’d love for you to join us
