Brand will speak on additive manufacturing and demonstrate 3D printing with a desktop machine at Current Blend.

He will also provide information about 1st Maker Space, an initiative to provide free training and 3D printers in public schools.

In addition to making time to speak at Current Blend, Kim is also available to visit with local businesses who may be interested in commercial 3D printing services or his company's desktop printers.

3D Parts Mfg, LLC is the largest additive manufacturing company in Indianapolis operating $1.5M of high-end 3D printing equipment. He and his son, together with two friends, founded the business in January 2013. 3D Parts employ eight engineers and technicians.

Recently, 3D Parts launched 1st Maker Space, LLC – an education program that puts advanced manufacturing equipment like 3D printers, laser cutters and microcontrollers in schools. The 1st Maker Space program is the only one of its kind to set up maker spaces in schools for free.

Kim is a life-long resident of Indianapolis and graduated from Purdue with a degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology in 1975. He has founded over a dozen other companies. Among them are Computer Experts, Inc. – an IT service business and Server Partners, LLC – a small business server leasing company.

He is on the board of EmployIndy and a member of the Rose-Hulman Indianapolis Board of Associates. He is an author, speaker, inventor and an adjunct professor of Legal Informatics at IUPUI’s School of Informatics and Computing.
