Agile on the Bench, the best lunchtime, outdoor agile meetup.
Agile on the bench is as you may expect, on a bench (well on a few benches), outdoors, in a park. The park also has a bandstand in case it rains.
Being in a park means no tech, there are no laptops or projectors, just the speakers, the attendees and lots of fantastic ideas.
It’s not for profit, which means that it's free for you to attend as speakers and organisers generously donate their time for the love of Agile.
Talks are short, with plenty of time for discussion, asking questions and getting back to work.
And badges… expect badges.
We schedule two awesome speakers each session who talk about anything related to Agile, people, teams and users. You can read more about the talks below.
Speakers have up to 10mins to convey their message in any way they choose, followed by 5mins for questions.
After the scheduled speakers we have Agile question time, a chance for you to ask the group any questions you have about Agile. Think of them as your agile agony aunts and uncles.

An Unexpected Journey: In the spring Michael signed up to offer mentoring to another iOS developers. When Naveen responded, Michael hoped first and foremost that it would be of value to Naveen and to feel some positive vibes in return. What he actually got out of it was so much more than that. Michael will to share his experiences, to inspire you to think about how you could turn your own skills and experiences into a force for good.
As people working in agile teams, we know that the businesses processes that support building up our teams very often do not align with how we work. Claire will share how her team has embraced agile techniques and applied them to recruiting people into organisations while never losing sight of the needs of those people.
