ARGO partner meeting #1
Advanced Research in Government Operations [ARGO] is a startup nonprofit that builds, operates, and maintains an analytics infrastructure to meet the most pressing challenges facing local government. During our first partners meeting, we will present our civic data science work, and solicit feedback as we scale-up.
Since our founding in Fall 2015 as graduates of NYU's Center for Urban Science and Progress, ARGO has co-created, with municipal managers, a number of new approaches, tools and services. Our focus is always on core government services such as water and streets.
In California we now manage and integrate water data across the state. We are providing analytics to water managers serving over 23 million Californians in an effort aligned with Governor Jerry Brown’s Government Operations data team.
ARGO’s street quality work has been advanced by fitting city vehicles with a device that we developed that reports the extent and exact location of potholes and other defects for all streets. This has been pioneered by Syracuse, NY and being built to scale across several cities in California as the state is poised to invest $4.3 billion annually into local street maintenance.
We are on to something and are hopeful to help cities surf the historic wave of political upheaval and digital disruption sweeping the globe. We are eager to meet with you as we seek advice and new partners looking to building a new platform for data infrastructure for cities everywhere.
A collaborative innovation center that advances the use of technology for the public good.
