This Beers for Good is a cracker as we’re joined by Tara Button, CEO of BuyMeOnce.com.
Tara was a copywriter who, for the last decade, has had a troubled relationship with advertising, often feeling like the work demanded she put aside her personal qualms and morality. “You’re in the wrong industry”, was something she heard often.
What started as a small website she built in her spare time, “Buy Me Once” has become both a shop and an environmental movement which aims to change consumer habits away from our throwaway culture. The website has received almost 1.3 million unique visitors and has had features in both national and international news.
Now an established entrepreneur with a small team behind her, she’s reflecting on how advertising made her and her business what it is today and how what she’s learnt might change the advertising of tomorrow.
