This is our seventh Beers for Good! SEVENTH.
We’ve had some super speakers so far and this month is no exception. Speaking at our last event of this year is Sam Conniff, co-founder of Livity, co-founder of Don’t Panic and all round lovely chap. We’ve invited Sam to share his story of how, at 25, he became disillusioned with his own career in marketing, flogging fizzy drinks, trainers and chewing gum to kids. He had an idea to harness the influence of big brands to tackle social challenges facing young people. Livity was born. And the doors of Livity have been open to young people every single day, of every single week since.
Nearly 15 years later, Sam has some fascinating stories about taking the ‘purpose-turn’. A senior client describes Livity as ‘my marketing agency with a youth club in the middle of it’. On a busy day, the young people out number the professional staff!
For our venue this month, we’re taking Beers for Good south of the river to an agency called GOOD in Waterloo. That’s right. This is Beers for Good at GOOD. We thought it’d be interesting to make this a BYOB event so we invite you to bring your own booze. Come with a crate and make some new friends. Or bring a bottle of your favourite tipple and enjoy a glass or three.
Beers For Good is a meet-up for people in advertising who are interested in making a positive difference together. Every month, we invite someone to share their experience of making a positive change in their life. We intend to share questions, challenges and discuss ways we can use our creative skills for good.
If you’d like to hear about future events and join a community of over 250 people making a positive difference in advertising then join the Comms Lab Facebook Page.
