CanWe create an urban farm for our shared benefit?
Hi I'm Daniel,
Recently I have been part of a number of conversations with friends and associates about how we can learn to become more self-sufficient as a community, sharing assets for collective benefit.
I have access to a space at the back of my house which is currently setup a dilapitated urban garden. For a while I have been thinking about getting into growing food, starting small with herbs/vegetables that can grow easily in our UK climate as well as experimenting with growing technologies such as hydroponics. I have also been having some conversations with other people who are interested in and/or have their own small urban farming projects and how we might build something collectively and learn together through doing.
If you are reading this, you are invited to join us, for a hands on conversation where we can start to revitalise this space over a Bring & Share BBQ. Children are welcome too.
This experiment will be part of a wider conversation and learning about how we can build trust, self-sufficiency and sustainability in our communities, reclaiming and redesigning neglected spaces in our cities.
