Tradition, Consumerism and Sustainability
'Tis the season for another CEM Face-to-Face event!
Please RSVP by 16th October 2018. Please note that a minimum of six students will be required to run the event. We recommend not booking travel or accommodation until after we confirm or cancel the event on 17th October 2018.
About the Event
This Face-to-Face event will include a series of activities that explore diverse aspects of the events industry with a focus on risk management as well as the intersection of sustainability, consumerism, and tradition.
The event will also provide you with the opportunity to experience and explore some of the most visited Christmas Markets in the world. The event has become increasingly popular in other countries, with many cities in the UK now featuring Christmas markets inspired by the German model.
Using the lens of the Christmas market, we will explore the event practice issues of risk management in large-scale non-ticketed events, and sustainability, consumerism, and tradition. To help us explore these issues in context, we will meet representatives from event agencies in Berlin.
We will also have an optional gathering no Friday, 14th December at a pub in the Mitte neighborhood.
Saturday will consist of a guided tour through multiple markets, as well as time for discussion and reflection.
Sunday we will continue to explore markets and hear from an events professional based in Berlin.
Please contact Laura Heggs, CEM Student Adviser, with any queries at email@example.com.
