Come along and hear from James Brodie, China Business Adviser at the China-Britain Business Council in Scotland, talking about some of his experience in working in and with China, and what opportunities and challenges exist for Scottish companies doing business with China.
A fluent speaker of Mandarin, James returned from working in China in July 2012 where he had held positions in a variety of sectors, ranging from contemporary art, through education and most recently petrochemicals. James lived in Beijing from 2006-2012 but has travelled extensively on business throughout China, serving as an interpreter and cultural adviser to foreign companies, a role he has also performed for Chinese companies ‘going global’.
His current work involves supporting Scottish companies looking at the Chinese market, and facilitating Chinese Outbound investment into the UK. James has a BA (Hons) in Chinese Studies from the University of Sheffield. Located in Edinburgh, James covers Scotland.
