An informal hang-out meet to explore how to use CP IRL events in future months......
The Commons Platform, for those who may not know, is a collaboration project to build a platform for people and communities to share ideas, things and experience in an environment where community, creativity and collaboration meet.
CP is gonna run one In-Real-Life event on the 8th of each month at the same place, same time, where we can run mini-events (workshops, conversations, interviews, sharing food, ideas, maybe tools and things, performance, art, whatever;) that reflect some of the things we'll be doing on the Platform itself…..
The events will take place at the super-cool Redmond Community Centre (https://www.redmondcommunitycentre.com) who helped us make such a success of the Global Sprint in May and who are generously allowing us to make use of their space for free. Our IRL idea ties in well with lots of the community stuff the Redmond are already doing, such as their community garden, community fridge and stuff. If it falls on a Tuesday it will, for instance, coincide with the supper club where we could help with cooking community dinners made from surplus food. On Fridays we could collaborate with Red Moon Roots who also cook-up amazing meals from surplus food. It also allows us to mingle with the local people who use the community centre and share ideas with them. This has already borne fruit since the Sprint with several people having joined CP via the Redmond.
This first meet is intended as a simple get-together and chat about what we might do to utilise this space and time over the coming months. So don't sweat about it - just traipse down in your jimjams and we'll get together and chat and have a few laughs?
