Confrontations 3: Identities

For the third meeting of Confrontations, we'll discuss the relationship between personal identity and corporate identity.

Confrontations is a discussion group that begins where the design confronts its own boundaries. Each meeting will address a different constellation of unsettled issues within contemporary design, informed by provocative combinations of short texts. Successive conversations may build off each other or degenerate into total confusion. These confrontations aim to provide a space for productive debate regarding the limitations, responsibilities, and possibilities of people who inhabit the undetermined space between laborer, messenger, and content creator.

Please come having read the following short texts:

The Obligation to Self-Design — Boris Groys

The Aesthetic Imperative — Virginia Postrel

Brand As Voice — Michael Rock

(Optional) Brand Obama — Naomi Klein
