Join us for @DrinksThing at Barbican Centre After CultureGeek this March
Join us after CultureGeek at the Barbican Centre on Monday, March 18th the first Drinks Thing of 2019 (sorry for the delay, life.).
The event will take place in the Life Rewired Hub, the Barbican’s new pop-up space inspired by and responding to their annual theme, Life Rewired, a season exploring what it means to be human when technology is changing everything. The Hub is also home to an exhibition that presents new writing and short films from artists and thinkers who are navigating the complex, vast, and all-too-often confusing discourse taking place around the impact of technology on our lives.
And there are also two free installations you can visit:
In The Curve, Daria Martin’s Tonight the World, draws upon her grandmother’s dream diaries in an atmospheric film installation using gaming technology to create a series of intimate encounters.
On Level G, explore a surreal lost property office where you will uncover stories in the most unlikely places as we explore narratives of aging in Liminal Space’s Unclaimed We will have a reserved area and will update this page with more information as soon as we have it but the date and time will not change.
Over the last few months, we’ve had people come along from all kinds of jobs: publishing, animation, digital, tech, startup, museums, heritage, students, science and more. This is an event for anyone that wants to meet with great people in London.
