Decentralised A.I. Hack

location Newspeak House | 10 AM Saturday 05 May — 7 PM Sunday 06 May 2018 (BST)

Software is eating the world and internet has become the most important connecting tissue between crowds, organisations and platforms. Lacking a web native model of value exchange, the internet resulted in copying business models of conglomerates of the past creating extremely centralised and powerful entities capable of establishing complete control over choice, opinion and access.

Artificial Intelligence is giving superpowers to the software that is already consuming the world, thus this control tightens. Responsibility frameworks are poorly established and not web native either.

Living in these hyper-sensitive times, we are calling for a creative jam session for A.I./ML folks and blockchain developers to come up with proposals/solutions on creating more efficient and fairer algorithms.

You are invited to think about and work on:

  1. Privacy by design approaches to algorithmic decision-making and harnessing personal data
  2. Data ownership and monetisation scenarios that can scale
  3. Business model innovation, tokenomics and distributed systems' design addressing improvement of A.I. approaches 4.New applications benefitting from the overlap of A.I. and blockchain technology
  4. A.I. ethics and frameworks to integrate it within existing systems
  5. A.I., blockchain and policy: human organisation through technology
  6. Client side applications and edge computing
  7. Federated learning instances addressing specific problems

Winner projects will be chosen by direct voting depending on:

a) Working MVP/Demo b) Addressable problem size c) Economic viability

Prizes will be announced closer to the date.
