Free artist talks by experimental animator Yaloopop and Bryan Cera!

Hello Wonderful Dorks, Artists,Technophiles and Friends!

We are on the second last Dorkbot brought to you by your neurotic co-organizer Jen Chan before she leaves Chicago! Josh who runs Catalyze will be here and he is open to taking proposals for workshops/demos and talks as always.

Dorkbot April brings wonderful, eclectic experimental animator YALOOPOP and interactive new media artist Bryan Cera!

The FREE talks will happen at 7pm on Saturday April 25 at Catalyze Chicago (650 W. Lake Street Suite 220. Closest station: Clinton Green)

Yaloo will share her recent obsessions, feelings and thoughts behind her experimental 3D work. Bryan Cera will share some of the concepts and processes behind his work, including recent open-source projects like Cubecube, a tangible, tactile interface for Computer Aided Design, and Glove One, a 3D-printed, wearable cell phone glove.

Who are they???

Bryan Cera is an artist, designer and maker from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, working in between the lines of art and technology. He has produced projects ranging from programmed interactive video environments, wearable electronics, networked robotics and sequenced light and fabric displays, to explorations in rapid prototyping, 3D digital design and fabrication. He has shown work across the US, including exhibitions in Wisconsin, Utah, Maine, California, and Philadelphia, and has contributed to multiple international exhibitions in Canada, Australia and China. His work has received press attention from such media venues as Australian Popular Science, The Huffington Post, Make Magazine, Artnet.com, Hackaday.com and Boingboing.net. Bryan holds a Bachelor’s in Interdisciplinary Arts, as well as Master of Arts and Master of Fine Arts in Art and Technology from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. He is currently Assistant Professor in Digital Media at Cardinal Stritch University in Milwaukee.
