Never been the the opera? Now’s your chance!
Join us for DrinksThing at the Royal Opera House on 27 November where we’ll be catching The Royal Opera’s intense production of Lucia di Lammermoor.
Directed by Katie Mitchell, the production brings a feminist reading to a classic operatic tragedy, interpreting Lucia as a strong and independent woman who fights against her brother’s attempts to control her. Particularly striking is Vicky Mortimer’s ‘split-stage’ design, which adds extra layers and details to the piece. Lucia di Lammermoor is opera at its darkest and most dramatic so be aware that there are scenes of a sensitive and violent nature.
Find out more about the production at www.roh.org.uk/lucia
We’ll be meeting at the Globe pub on Bow Street at 6pm before heading across the road to the show for 7.15pm.
This being DrinksThing, fear not - there will of course be the opportunity to head to the bar in the interval half-way through the show!
