ZOMG, I'm starting a new life in Berlin!
After spending 31 years in living and working in the Big Smoke, on March 12th, I’m catching a train to Berlin to move to live in poor but sexy Berlin, with my better half, Phillippa.
So, if you have a spare moment from lunchtime onwards on Sunday March 9th, I’d like to invite you along to the Electricity Showrooms to join me for a drink, and maybe something to eat, for a proper send off.
Many of my friends are either on Twitter but don’t use Facebook, or on Facebook but don’t use Twitter. Hopefully, this lets me reach everyone, and doesn’t force anyone to sign up with one service just to say good bye over a drink with me. Plus, it’s a new web service, and it’s shiny.
This is a well known graffiti painting on the Berlin wall, called My God, Help Me to Survive This Deadly Love by Dmitri Vrubel. It depicts Leonid Brezhnev and Erich Honecker in a fraternal embrace, reproducing a photograph that captured the moment in 1979 during the 30th anniversary celebration of the foundation of the German Democratic Republic. And it seemed the best halfway decent Berlin photo I could find when putting this page together.
Well, this thing lets me set up a mailing list for sending a newsletter in future, and if enough of you sign up, it might actually force me to write something interesting to share in future. In the very least, you’ll know when you have an alternative to using airbnb if you’re in town.
* well, compared to London, and once we actually find somewhere…
