Social investment by the people, for the people.
Social investment distribution patterns are starting to look familiar. A central pot of cash, a central team, a central strategy and a central process.
But what if, like Oxford Marmalade, we provided the means for local users to decide the shape of things to come? What if we turned social investment on its head? What if instead of a centrally concentrated fund, it was the people that decided what investment was needed and where, made decisions for themselves, determined how best to solve locally specific challenges and carved out solutions to meet local needs away from the prescription of the elites?
Join us as CAF Venturesome re-imagines how a people’s approach to social investment can transform the way money and expertise moves in the sector. CAF Venturesome shares its experience of giving communities the tools to activate their investment solutions, acting as a conduit to represent their needs. We will take lessons learned through our SE-Assist and Community Land Trust funds, and will dare the audience to help us create social investment by the people, for the people.
