A creative day of photography for Makers with Emily Quinton

A day of photography, practical sessions and heaps of inspiration with UK photographer, author and maker, Emily Quinton to help you to take better photographs of your products and to convey a beautiful story of your making on social media and your blog.

The day will include:

  • Finding inspiration and developing your style
  • Learning to use and find the best light
  • Composition and styling
  • Getting the best from your camera phone
  • Shooting in Aperture Priority mode on your dSLR (if you have one)
  • Basic editing on your phones and computers
  • Tips and tricks for visual social media and using photography on your blog
  • How to create a visual story to tell your audience about your maker life and your beautiful products
  • Practical sessions. You can bring your own products to shoot in the beautiful space with help from Emily

And after the workshop you will be able to join the private Makelight Facebook group for continued support, inspiration and networking.

Cost - £135 (includes lunch, drinks, cake and a signed copy of Emily's Book, 'Maker Spaces' published in April, 2015)

10am-5pm. (we will begin and end the day in a relaxed way, so please do not panic if you are running a bit late, your train doesn’t quite get you there on time or if you need to leave a little early).

Please bring your camera(s) - whatever that is and remember to charge it up and clear your memory cards. I will have some props and inspiring things to photograph but if you want to bring some of your own products or things you make with then please do.

Emily can't wait to spend the day with you all! x
