Ministry of Awesome presents Double Shot Session with a Social Enterprise twist. Teaming up with Social Enterprise Ōtautahi Network, we present to you an event with Fairtrade Coffee Farmer on tour, Daniel Kinne and recent Akina Foundation Launchpad programme participant, Carsten Grimm (The Wellbeing Game).
Daniel Kinne, is a coffee farmer, chairman, and a founding member of the Highland Organic Agricultural Cooperative (HOAC) in Papua New Guinea. HOAC is an association of 2,600 organic coffee growers located in remote regions of the Eastern Highlands Province of Papua New Guinea. It is estimated that between 50,000 to 60,000 people in the community benefit from the association. HOAC’s production levels have been increasing significantly each year, starting from 200 tons of green beans in 2005 to 1020 in 2013. HOAC earned NZD$606,000 through the Fairtrade Premium in 2013. He is visiting Christchurch only for a few hours specifically for this event!
Carsten Grimm, project lead of The Wellbeing Game recently participated at Akina Foundation’s Launchpad programme. Carsten is a passionate advocate for raising the wellbeing of New Zealanders through innovative technologies. The Wellbeing Game is a social media platform that creates champions of wellbeing in the workplace. It is a fun online activity logging game that teaches you to pay attention to how you stay happy and healthy. The aim of the Game is to accumulate happiness, one hour at a time.
