Multidisciplinary Global Health Night Out: The Global Burden of NCDs – Hypertension and the Challenges of Reliable Data Collection

Dear all,

We are gearing up for another Multi-Disciplinary Global Health Night Out. This series is an opportunity to be exposed to important ideas we need to be familiar with in the field as well as a venue for all of us to become familiar with our colleagues in other departments doing global health work here at Yale.

This time, we’ll be discussing hypertension in the global setting, brought to you with support from the Yale Network for Global Noncommunicable Diseases (NGN). We’ll review some recent articles about the condition and challenges in data collection with international research.

The format is dinner followed by a discussion led by our resident leaders and facilitated by the faculty expert discussants. Articles and other materials will be distributed before the session. It is expected that all who attend will be familiar with the articles so that we can have a really fruitful discussion.

Resident/ student leaders: Pranay Sinha (Internal Med, PGY-3) and Temitope Ojo (YSPH 2016; WHO intern 2016). Faculty discussants: Robert McNamara (Cardiology, YSM) and Nicola Hawley (Chronic Disease Epidemiology, YSPH) Location: Max Taffel Room, East Pavillion, 20 York Street

Dinner will be served. You must RSVP.

Looking forward to see you all soon,

Tracy Rabin and Christine Ngaruiya
