We're hosting a fun, laid-back music hackathon in Oakland with a performance at the end! Bring your computers!

The event will be hosted at The Overlook Lounge @ The Port Workspaces.

What is a music hackathon?

A music hackathon is almost like a regular hackathon, except the theme is music, and the environment is much less competitive and much more fun. The event starts at 1pm, we'll work on something for four hours, and between 5pm-6pm we'll start an impromptu performance to show-and-tell the musical things we worked on.

Will there be food?

Hopefully! We're looking for a food sponsor. If you're interested in becoming a sponsor, please email Linda at lindatheviolinist@gmail.com or Laura at lauranmontoya@gmail.com.

Is this event free?

What should I bring?

Please bring your laptop, a charger, and (optionally) any instruments you might want to use during the performance, an open imagination, and a readiness to have fun.

Where will the event take place?

The Port Workspaces at the 344 20th St. location is a rather large building.

We'll be primarily inside a conference room on the second floor. There is a small chance we'll have access to the terrace for the performance, but we won't know until that day.

We will have access to a projector.

What if I don't know what I'll work on?

You don't need to come in with a music hack in mind! We'll discuss ideas at the start of the event, and you can decide to get together in groups or work individually at the start of the event.

I'm at the front door, but I can't get in! Help!

Please call Linda at xxx-xxx-xxxx.

I signed up, but I can't go.

Please update your RSVP! The event is limited to only 18 people.
