Charming BIG software!
Juju, that magic tech from Canonical, is designed to solve (tangentially) configuration management of software systems, but more properly, maintaining the life-cycle of big software. Charms, the units that Juju operates with, are written in Python and use some really interesting concepts to drive a complex system of application components to a stable configuration. It has the ability to install and configure complex systems such as Kubernetes, OpenStack, Ceph and other Big data solutions.
But, what you’ll be learning at this semi hands-on session, is how to begin writing, debugging and understanding charms. So bring your laptop, follow the pre-talk instructions to get yourself setup (coming soon…) and we’ll explore the unique and slightly baffling world of Juju and charming.
Pizza will be courtesy of our kind sponsors Sharpe Recruitment (@sharperecruit) and Pebble (@mypebble) - get there early to get a slice! And we once again will be hosted by the ace folks at Campus North (@campusnorthuk).
Campus North is down the hill from the Body Zone Gym and the Flat Caps Coffee on the corner of Carliol Square. Please ring the doorbell, or tweet @PythonNorthEast, to get let in.
Hope to see you there and please spread the word.
