PyNE Oct 2015 - Evolutionary algorithms in Python

location Campus North | Wed 6pm 14th October 2015

This month we have Pawel Widera giving a tutorial on Evolutionary algorithms:

How to solve problems we don't know how to solve? Take inspiration from nature and use the power of evolution! This problem-solving technique has been tried and tested for billions of years! Don't create, evolve!

This will be a tutorial style introduction to evolutionary algorithms. We will use selection, mutation, reproduction and recombination to solve hard problems. There will be several demo programs to play with, and a cool dojo-style problem to solve, so bring your own laptop with Python on board.

This meetup is suitable for all levels - just come along with your laptop or team up with someone else.

Pizza will be courtesy of our kind sponsors Sharpe Recruitment (@sharperecruit) and Pebble (@mypebble) - get there early to get a slice! And we once again will be hosted by the ace folks at Campus North (@campusnorthuk).

Campus North is down the hill from the Body Zone Gym and the Cornerstone Cafe on the corner of Carliol Square. Please ring the doorbell, or tweet @PythonNorthEast, to get let in.

Hope to see you there and please spread the word.

The meetup requires a minimum of 15 signed up to proceed.
