Modelling Infrastructures with Python
Francesco Castellani (@zizzipupp) will be showing us all how Python is used in Civil Engineering, a departure from the classic computational uses such as Matlab and VBA.
Francesco will be demonstrating how to use the NetworkX package to to do system modelling. There will be a few technical aspects that everyone can enjoy and understand. Whether you're a beginner, expert, or somewhere in-between, you'll find something you can take away from tonight. We hope you'll see how Python is so flexible that it can address the needs of the oldest branch of Engineering - Civil Engineering - can be addressed in a fashionable and reliable way.
Francesco is a PhD student at Newcastle University, researching the robustness of electricity distribution networks against extreme weather events.
