Staff meeting to discuss the challenge and possibility of a renewal of Waldorf education
Many who work actively within the Waldorf school movement realise the need for a renewal and transformation of the traditional ‘Waldorf’ model if it is to continue to meet the changing realities and challenges of today. One important question here is how to bring about this renewal out of the core principles of Steiner’s pedagogical vision. Another question is the extent to which such a renewal should draw on current innovations in pedagogical practice outside the Waldorf movement.
The aim of this focus group meeting is to gather thoughts, insights and reflections on these questions from the teaching faculty and other core staff at Michael Hall. The meeting will begin with a presentation to set the scene, followed by facilitated discussion.
This meeting is particularly for those who care deeply about Michael Hall and how it can survive and thrive in the present and future. It is also for those who care deeply about education as such, and about how education can be a force for positive social and spiritual transformation in these challenging times.
