Appreciating art, slowly.
Slow Art Day is a global all-volunteer event with a simple mission: help more people discover for themselves the joy of looking at and loving art.
One day each year – April 11 in 2015 – people all over the world visit local museums and galleries to look at art slowly. Participants look at five works of art for 10 minutes each and then meet together over lunch to talk about their experience.
This London group will be visiting the Tate Modern, which (apart from special exhibitions) is free to visit. The five pieces we’ll be looking at are yet to be decided. Afterwards we will probably have a cup of tea upstairs to talk through our thoughts and impressions.
It’s not compulsory to register attendance on this site, but it would help to know how many people might turn up. If you have any questions feel free to leave a comment at the bottom of this page.
Hope to see you there!
