A chronic instability has formed within public elementary and secondary schools (K-12) in the United States. Due to inadequate funding, that does not support student growth and achievement, students are graduating high school unprepared to enter the globalized economic, social and political world, in which we inhabit. Not only are students unprepared, they are lacking in education, when compared to other industrialized nations similar to the United States. We must address this dilemma. This march is to raise awareness of the instability the public education system has brought about for students and how lawmakers must bring about a change to the norm of public education funding. Bring your signs, friends, family, peers, neighbors, professors, but most importantly your voices. We must be heard! We must take a stand for public education to provoke significant change!
