Hey! Listen!
Do you care about your favorite games and comics creators' ability to continue to work? Then you care about the repeal of the ACA.
Do you care about new, diverse voices in games and media? Then you care about the immigration ban.
Do you care about basic human rights and human decency? Then you care about standing up to the political dumpster fire that is happening to the US.
Let's organize.
US Senator John Cornyn's office is in walking distance from PAX South. Let's tell him how we feel about the repeal of the ACA, and Trump's racist immigration ban.
Itinerary
Sunday, January 29th
3:45 PM Meet at outside the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center on the corner of E Market Street and Convention way to make signs. Just look for the loud nerds with poster board. We'll bring the poster board, sharpies, and bottles of water.
4:30 PM We'll walk the half mile to Senator Cornyn's office together. YES, wear your cosplay. YES, be yourself, and be loud.
5:00 PM We will protest outside of Senator Cornyn's office. We will take videos and selfies, and we will post them all over the dang internet. We will make a just a stink.
6:00 PM Well done, everyone. Let's go back to our friends and family.
FAQ
This is cool but I'm mad about something ELSE! When we focus, more people will listen. Our focus tomorrow is protesting the repeal of the ACA, and the immigration ban. However, if you want to make an entirely different sign, cool. That is the beauty of America.
I thought PAX is an apolitical event? True! This march is not officially affiliated with PAX.
I can't physically make the walk. Meet up to make posters. We could use your artistry even if we can't have your feet! Can't meet up to make posters? Tweet support at #NerdWalk. Can't tweet? Think some good thoughts really, really hard at us.
