Learn What it Takes to Keep Bees In PHL Why You Can (And Should!) Do It

6:00pm - Urban Beekeeping: What it Takes, Why Do It?

Join Abby Fretz (urban beekeeper) at Indy Hall on Thursday, November 3rd at 6:00pm. Learn about what it takes to keep bees in the City of Philadelphia and the unique role urban beekeepers play in saving the bees.

Disclaimer: this is NOT an actual beekeeping class (look to the Philadelphia Beekeepers Guild for that)!

If you have ever wondered about the effort, costs, space, laws associated with beekeeping, this talk should help clarify whether urban beekeeping is for you.

6:30pm - Honey Tasting

If you are able to stick around, at 6pm we will conduct a honey tasting of samples from around the United States. You will learn about what contributes to the wide variety of colors and flavors found in all-natural honey.

For those of you who enjoy a good happy hour, there may also be the opportunity to partake in a couple honey-themed cocktails (recipe genius provided by Stephan Matanovic).
