Take a group trip to the Field Museum, followed by pizza and a presentation from Dennis McClendon
Take in the sights, sounds (and perhaps smells) of the Field Museum’s 1893 Chicago World’s Fair exhibit. Let’s plan to meet under the big dinosaur at 11am. If you miss the meeting time, just head into exhibit; I’m sure we’ll bump into each other.
Dennis has very generously offered his time and home to those of us interested in learning more about the 1893 Chicago World’s Columbian Exposition and 1933 Century of Progress. We’ll meet there around noon, eat pizza, listen to Dennis, and socialize.
The address is 899 South Plymouth, but it’s the highrise at the corner of 9th & State. Bus 146 runs straight here from the Field Museum (or from downtown). It’s steps from the Harrison Red Line stop, so here’s a little map:
Please note: you are very welcome to join us at Dennis’ home even if you are not planning to make it to the museum.
If you have any dietary restrictions, allergies or pizza preferences, please let us know in the comments form below.
